"But you won't let those Robots eat me"

Here is what is going down in September:

1)The first day of September is tomorrow. Looking forward to this month, there are gonna be many adventures. This weekend will be a trip to Seefeld Austria. A few years back Luc took me there during the summer. I'm trying to remember exactly when...uh lets see...summer of 2008. I'm gonna try to find some pics right now, oh wait, I found a video:



I can't wait for all the hiking in the gorgeous Austrian Alps. It's gonna be like Fellowship of the mother f-ing Ring.

Then the next big adventure will be to SCOTLAND and IRELAND!!!

I think I learned a song that went something like that in kindergarten. Anybody know it? Anyone? I am returning home on September 30th for Glenda Renk's wedding!!! What! What! Jeannie Power's is gonna be my date to this wonderful occasion. Not only do I get to attend a wedding I'm also invited to celebrate Shenine's 27th birthday. She is having a 80's themed roller skating party.


These are all the wonderful things I am looking forward to in my future.

Chicken soup

I have never attempted to make a home-made soup before today. My mom makes the best minestrone soup and all the times she was about to make my favorite soup she would say, "Would you like to learn how to make it?" For some reason I never did. But today I made my own chicken soup. I went to the grocery store and got celery, bouillon, carrots, cabbage, red onion, garlic and kip (Dutch for chicken) I'm learning Dutch by the way it's tough but I'm getting better. Anyway I really enjoyed preparing the soup. I didn't even look up a recipe I just went for it. I think it turned out really delicious. Luc and I are bringing it over to his mom's for dinner tonight. Hope she likes it. I think the next soup I am going to try is potato.

My good deed for the day

Luc needed to open a German bank account today in Aachen. I decided to go along with him for the short trip. While I was sitting patiently waiting for Luc to finish his banking business I noticed one of the employees standing next to an ice cream refrigerator. I thought to myself his job must be to just sell the ice cream. Then a women came up to him and handed him a wallet. He looked inside and pulled out an ID glanced at it for a second then put it back and walked away. A few seconds later a women sat down next to me. She waited for awhile then a guy stood next to her speaking in German. He made an obvious gesture reaching to his back pocket, this was my cue to intervene. Even though I do not speak German I politely asked if he was missing his wallet. They nodded yes and I pointed to the man who received the missing wallet. His wallet was returned and I got a "Thank you". I felt like sharing this story to brag about my good deed and my intuition.

Chinese food

I made chicken fried rice and beef and broccoli minus the beef. Didn't have any beef so just used the same recipe using only the broccoli. It turned out really goooooooood!

Aachen

Luc and I are going to Maastricht today to check out an apartment in the inner city. We walked passed the building the other day, it has white brick with a balcony, very exciting. Our appointment is at 13:30 this afternoon, can't wait. If we decide to take it we will move in right away. But our trip to IKEA yesterday revealed that we indeed have completely different tastes. He would prefer our apartment look like a modern expensive hotel, as for me I discovered I like a bed and breakfast look.

Once we were finished disagreeing on just about everything in the entire store we took a trip to Aachen Germany. Luc took me to his favorite store...model trains. He pointed out every train and building he had as a child, "I still have them in my basement TT". I thought his excitement for miniature towns with trains and people was adorable but also very humorous. I kept thinking of one of my favorite quotes from Best in Show "Thank god for model trains, they wouldn't have the idea for the big ones."

One of the questions from Trivia was, "what does the egg represent?" If you guessed it is a sign of rebirth, then you my friend are correct. I woke up very early this morning (ug... jet lag) and had some time to chat with my sister Beth and my friends online. Luc just informed me that I don't have jet lag, "you have butt lag!"

Breakfast was tasty and festive completed with a white laced table cloth covered with bread, cheese and chocolates. Luc's momma prepared an Easter Egg hunt in her garden in the backyard. Luc and I followed the path in the forest searching for gifts. Luc's mom is so cute I found lots of candy and goodies hidden in the plants, trees, flowers and bushes all over the garden. I felt like a little kid again, it has been a long time since I have had an Easter hunt. I do recall a home video from the time my family lived in Biloxi Mississippi. My dad recorded me hiding eggs in the front yard of the house on On the Green Street for my sisters Mary and Beth. Gosh I had to of been eight going on nine which would make Beth and Mary seven and five years old. When I finished hiding the plastic colored eggs filled with candy I yelled towards the front door to let them know it was time to hunt for the eggs. During the hunt Mary is getting upset at Beth for having more eggs. At one point Beth actually starts putting eggs in her basket but that wasn't enough. We all start calling, "Mary come back!" as she storms off into the house. It's a pretty humorous and classic hissy fit scene, one of Mary's famous temper tantrums.

Peanut Butter Cookies

I just learned how to use the metric
system...piece of cake.
Those are peanut butter cookies made with honey and peanut butter I had to improvise but it was delicious.
